Salient Features :
- Self-energising Disc Seal - Bi-directional bubble-tight sealing
- Assured Sealing to Atmosphere
- Lighter and Stronger Construction
- Lower Torque, Longer Life
- Maintenance-free Bearings
1. Two Offsets
First Offset: The centerline of the shaft is offset from the centerline of the valve body. This reduces the contact area between the seat and the disc, resulting in less wear and more efficient sealing.
Second Offset: The disc’s pivot point is offset from the centerline of the valve body. This reduces the friction between the disc and the seat, improving the valve's longevity and performance.
2. Enhanced Sealing
Improved Seal: The offset design helps achieve a better seal, particularly under high pressure and temperature conditions. The reduced friction and improved alignment between the disc and the seat contribute to a tight shutoff.
3. Reduced Torque Requirements
Lower Operating Torque: Due to the reduced friction and improved sealing, double offset butterfly valves generally require less torque to operate compared to traditional butterfly valves. This can reduce the size and cost of the actuator needed.
4. Longer Service Life
Extended Durability: The design minimizes seat wear and mechanical stress, which can extend the valve’s service life and reduce maintenance needs.
5. Improved Performance
Smooth Operation: The offset design allows for smoother operation and more reliable performance, making it suitable for critical applications where reliability is paramount.
6. Versatility
Wide Range: Double offset butterfly valves can handle a wide range of pressures, temperatures, and media types, including aggressive and corrosive fluids. They are used in industries such as oil and gas, chemical processing, water treatment, and HVAC systems.
7. Bi-Directional Flow
Flexible Operation: They are capable of handling flow in both directions, providing flexibility in system design and operation.
8. Compact Design
Space Efficiency: While providing high performance, double offset butterfly valves are still relatively compact and lightweight compared to other types of high-performance valves, making them suitable for applications with space constraints.
9. Quick Operation
Rapid Control: The quarter-turn operation of butterfly valves allows for quick and easy control of flow, which is advantageous in systems requiring rapid response.
10. Reduced Leakage
Leak Minimization: The design features and materials used in double offset butterfly valves help in minimizing leakage, which is critical for maintaining system integrity and efficiency.
